Commissioner Lighe Starts Official Assignments at LiMA

MONROVIA – The Liberia Maritime Authority (LiMA) family has welcomed Cllr. Neto Zarzar Lighe, Sr. as its new Commissioner/CEO.

Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the institution’s corporate headquarters was the short ceremony where the colorful event took place.

Commissioner/CEO Cllr. Lighe made brief remarks in which he stated that he had taken on this new role in order to advance the interests of the nation and build on the work he had recently inherited. He emphasized that he is not a man of many words, but rather a man of action and results-drivenness. He made it clear that his administration would not accept anything based solely on friendship, but rather professionalism, diligence, respect, and punctuality. He also underlined that success during his administration will depend on cultivating and upholding professional behavior.

“The way we conduct ourselves, relate to one another, and approach our tasks all amounts to professionalism”, the new Commissioner added.

Next, Commissioner Lighe expressed gratitude to the LiMA staff for all of their hard work over the years to maintain the institution’s viability both domestically and internationally. He urged the workers to carry out the current task.

Prior to the new LiMA Boss’s arrival, Cllr. Nya S. Gbaintor, Principal Director for Administration and Legal Services, urged the staff to keep up their hard work while they awaited the new Commissioner’s strategic direction and direction.

“Sir, this team is ready to work with you. We are a responsible and skilled team – waiting to work assiduously to ensure the accomplishment of your vision,” Cllr. Gbaintor said.

Emmanuel N. Reeves, Officer-In-Charge and Deputy Commissioner for Financial Affairs, acknowledged and conveyed his sincere gratitude to the technical and administrative staff for their assistance during the transitional phase in his remarks.

Deputy Commissioner Reeves greeted Commissioner Lighe, pronounced the situation at LiMA satisfactory, and asserted that Commissioner Lighe has a skilled, committed, and competent team at his disposal. The Deputy Commissioner remarked, “We want to personally welcome you and we will follow your lead to ensure that this program and our national heritage remain vital.”
