Grand Bassa Senator Nylonblee Karnga-Lawrence Wins Senate Pro-Tempore post unopposed

Senator Nylonblee Karnga-Lawrence of Grand Bassa County has been elected President Pro-tempore of the Senate in the 55th National Legislature.
The Grand Bassa lawmaker, who political analysts predicted to come on top in the race for the Pro-tempore post was elected on white ballot.
Senator Karnga-Lawrence, a strong ally of the President-elect Joseph Nyemah Boakai won unopposed when former Senate Pro-tempore, now newly elected Senator of Grand Bassa County, Gbehzohngar Milton Findley decided to backoff from the race, thus allowing his colleague from the same county to automatically cling the Pro-tempore post.
Moments later, following the election of Senator Karnga-Lawrence, Senators voted to structure the leadership of the Senate.
Those appointed to the Senate’s leadership are: Chair on Executive: James Biney (Maryland), Chair on Foreign Affairs: Abraham Dillon (Montserrado), Chair on Public Works: Albert Chie (Grand Kru), Chair on Judiciary: Augustine Chea (Sinoe), Chair on Ways, Means, Finance and Budget: Prince Moye (Bong), Chair on Defense and Security: Momo Cyrus (Lofa) , Chair on Rules, Order and Administration: Gbleh-bo Brown ( Maryland), and Chair on Education: Nathaniel Mcgill (Margibi).
