Veteran Liberian Educator ‘Teacher Pepper’ Laid to Rest

MONROVIA – An astute Liberian educator, Mac John Russell commonly known as Teacher Pepper has been laid to rest.

Mr. Russell, who was fondly remembered as a disciplinarian, was the proprietor of the famous Elementary and Junior High School, School of Christ located on 5th Street in Sinkor.

The veteran Liberian educator passed away on January 23, 2024 after a period of illness according to close family sources.

He was a former Commissioner of Congo Town, a Deacon and an Elder of the Winners Chapel International located in Congo Town, opposite the EJS Ministerial Complex.

Teacher Pepper was born on June 5, 1950 and passed away at the age of 73 years.

Today, February 24, 2024, hundreds of family members, former students, friends and well-wishers gathered at the Winners Chapel International Church to bid farewell to the veteran educator who was finally laid to rest in Careysburg.
